I received my PhD in Biology from Johns Hopkins University/NIH in the lab of Dr. Brian Oliver studying how the transcription factors OVO and SOV promote female germ cell differentiation throughout oogenesis in Drosophila. I continued my scientific work as a postdoc in the lab of Dr. Leah Rosin studying the transcriptional control driving the eupyrene to apyrene switch in meiosis in both Bombyx mori and Plodia interpunctella moth species. I am continuing my postdoctoral research in the Perrimon lab focusing on how transcription factors promote germ cell identity in Drosophila.
