I earned my master’s degree in Aquaculture from Ocean University of China. I did my thesis work in the lab of Dr. Hongsheng Yang (Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences) and Dr. Fang Wang (Ocean University of China), where I studied the role of extracellular matrix remodeling in intestine regeneration of sea cucumber. I received my Ph.D. in Genetics and Genomics from Dr. Hua Bai’s lab at Iowa State University. Using Drosophila as the working model, I investigated the interplay among protein acetylation, acetyl-CoA, and lipid metabolism. In Dr. Perrimon's lab, I am interested in identifying tissue-specific metabolic pathways and understanding how tissues interact and coordinate with each other to achieve metabolic homeostasis.
