I received my PhD in Biology from Johns Hopkins University/NIH in the lab of Dr. Brian Oliver studying how the transcription factors OVO and SOV promote female germ cell differentiation throughout oogenesis in *Drosophila*. I continued my scientific work as a postdoc in the lab of Dr. Leah Rosin studying the transcriptional control driving the eupyrene to apyrene switch in meiosis in both *Bombyx mori* and *Plodia interpunctella* moth species. I am continuing my postdoctoral research in the Perrimon lab focusing on how transcription factors promote germ cell identity in *Drosophila*.
